This is a Yahoo Group. Anyone who has a yahoo e-mail address (which
includes you) can start a group and it doesn't cost anything. We
have a group owner who was once very active. Moderators are a
volunteer position approved by the group owner. The group owner can
grant more or less privileges to the moderators. The owner and or
the moderators can grant individual members more or less privileges.
I am the guy who has been a pain for you.
I am Brian E. Jensen of Edina Minnesota, a 56-year-old chemical
engineer who grew up in Racine Wisconsin. I won 3 math contests in
high school but I am not so good when I get past algebra. I am very
humbled by the good members of the group such as Stephen Tavener,
Buck Dick, Nick Hobson, Rick, Michael, Sbkidde, Jim, Vinaire, and
probably a few other familiar names.
There isn't much guidance for this job. I try to keep out all the
spam. I have my ears open for criticism.
I have just approved your message where Purple Math agrees with you.
(Even so, there is controversy.) I will save this reference. I will
try to write all my equations so they will not be misinterpreted by
anyone. If someone else writes an equation, I will ask what they
mean. If I check calculations, I will watch carefully for errors in
this area.
But it is now almost suppertime and I have gotten nothing done but
work on your e-mails. It took a few days for us to figure out that
when you use a colon, you mean division. It took several days to
figure out that we were arguing about what happens when we leave out
the multiplication sign. Try to figure out where the point of
disagreement is. If others don't agree, drop it.
Regards,
Brian
