but for a time it seemed like I was the only one left.
At that point I wrote a note to the owner of the group
suggesting that she consider asking at least one or two
more people if they'd be willing to assist. I recommended
that Brian be one of the ones she consider because he had an
excellent track record as a member of the group.
I am a full time special education teacher who works
in an innercity PreK-8th grade public school in NY.
I also volunteer as a tutor to some older regular education
students who struggle with reading and mathematics.
I appreciate the fact that this forum exists for times
when I need to be refreshed about some aspect of math
in order that I be in a better position to offer guidance to
my afterschool students and/or to my own teenage daughter.
In return, I'm willing to check the pending messages once
or twice a day to try to keep it as spam free as possible.
I'm very active with some Yahoo groups that are geared for
elementary grade students, but tend to stay behind the scenes
on this one. It's been almost 30 years since I was a full time graduate
student and I was not a math major when I was.
Therefore, I typically sit back and let others with a more
advanced understanding of the subject respond.
