My solutions to the questions are
1.If we find the inverse function of: f (x) = 3x+ 5 / 7x + 2 we get
f ^ -1(x) = 2x + b / cx + d ,
then find 2d - bc .
put f(x)=y, then we get y= (3x+5)/(7x+2)
cross multiplying and solving for x, we get
x=(2y-5)/(-7y+3) or f ^ -1(x) = (2x -5) / (-7x + 3)
comparing this with f ^ -1(x) = 2x + b / cx + d, we get b=-5, c=-7,
d=3 and so 2d-bc= 6-35=-29
