Hi everybody,

I'd like to know once and for all which symbols to put

I have learned that                 : 

means division , now  the colon

means ratio.

so how to write division?

 

the slash        /            or

 the horizontal line ____

are used to indicate a fraction (a bar of fraction)

so how some write / slash as divison.

is

 / slash for both fraction an division?
